You probably seen it on the news; there was a major storm here on the French Riviera. It has been raining non top since Monday night. But finally by 12:30 PM this afternoon, right on time for a pleasant lunch (déjeûner) on the Mediterranean, the sun decided to grace us with its magnificent presence and [...] Too bad Labor Day falls on a Saturday this year. Most offices and large stores that are usually open on Saturdays are closed, otherwise they would have to pay their employees double their usual wage. Still all small restaurants, bakeries, pastry shops and cafes are open. All the stores along the Mediterranean in Cagnes-sur-Mer and St-Laurent-du-Var [...] I have seen a few people wearing the typical MC Hammer parachute pants in and around Nice this past week.
